Triad Color Scheme

Some people have a natural eye for what colors will compliment each other. If you don’t happen to be one of those people, then looking at the color wheel can help you see what colors will compliment each other. For example, yellow and blue are equidistant from each other on the color wheel, so they compliment each other very well. They are part of what’s called a Triad Color Scheme, three colors that are equidistant on the color wheel. You can use all three colors in the Triad Color Scheme as in the example below; blue, yellow and red, or you can use just two of the colors together.

That’s why I LOVE the way my Mustard Yellow Cardigan and Royal Blue Denim look together.

Brown and Ivory are neutrals so they go with ANYTHING. So I went with my polka dots and stripes, burnt out, chocolate-brown tee (it’s kinda hard to see it in the pics) from DownEast to add some additional color depth and Gold Tones Scarf from mark. for more visual interest. Check my blog post, Gold Tones Scarf, to see up close pics of the scarf and read my review of it. I also love how the leopard flats add just the right amount of that extra little visual detail.
